Lars Bomanson is a sonic artist and sound designer originating from the Åland Islands. Currently based in Sweden he is working across performing arts, music, and interactive sound installations.
Holding a BA degree in sound design from Stockholm University of the Arts, along with earlier studies in musicology and music production, he combines broad technical and artistic expertise with a responsive and exploratory practice. His work moves fluidly between classical theatre, postdramatic performance, and somatic practices, often in close dialogue with directors, choreographers, and visual artists to create distinctive sonic landscapes. Through a process-driven approach, he aims to craft works with a clear sense of intermediality, where sound functions as a dramaturgical force in its own right.
Bomanson’s sonic expression is characterized by contrast and playfulness, often grounded in an organic palette where acoustic distortion, musical composition, and interactive sound solutions intersect. His sound worlds are frequently built from sampled materials, motion-responsive installations, or electroacoustic elements that shift between the intimate and the expansive. At the core of his artistic practice lies a strong commitment to development, collaboration, and attentiveness — giving each production its own unique identity with a distinctly humanistic undertone.
